Wisdom Tutors –

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of educational services by Wisdom Tutors (“the Academy”, “we”, “our”, “us”) to parents, guardians and students (“you”, “your”).
By enrolling a child with Wisdom Tutors, making payment, or attending classes, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Our Services
Wisdom Tutors provides online educational programmes including:
- Qur’an and Tajweed
- Islamic Studies
- Urdu Language
Classes are delivered remotely via online platforms and are structured into educational levels and cohorts.
The Academy reserves the right to modify curriculum content, lesson sequencing, teaching resources and learning materials where reasonably necessary.
2. Student Eligibility
Students must:
- Be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian.
- Have access to a suitable internet connection and device.
- Be able to participate safely in online learning sessions.
Parents are responsible for ensuring that all registration information provided is accurate and kept up to date.
3. Placement and Class Allocation
All new students enter a placement period during which teachers assess the student’s learning needs and suitability for a particular learning level.
The Academy may:
- Move a student to a different cohort.
- Move a student to a different level.
- Change class allocation where necessary for educational or operational reasons.
Placement decisions are made at the Academy’s sole educational discretion.
The Academy does not guarantee placement in a particular cohort, teacher group or class time indefinitely.
4. Cohort Sizes
Classes are delivered in small-group settings.
The Academy reserves the right to:
- Merge cohorts.
- Split cohorts.
- Reassign teachers.
- Change timetables.
where reasonably necessary to maintain educational quality or operational efficiency.
5. Subscription Fees
Fees are charged on a recurring subscription basis through Stripe or another approved payment provider.
By enrolling, you authorise recurring payments until your subscription is cancelled in accordance with these Terms.
Fees may be reviewed periodically.
Any fee increase will be communicated with at least 30 days’ notice.
6. Payment Obligations
Parents are responsible for ensuring valid payment details remain on file.
Failure to make payment does not automatically cancel enrolment.
Outstanding balances remain payable even where attendance ceases without proper cancellation.
The Academy reserves the right to recover unpaid fees and reasonable administrative costs associated with collection.
7. Failed Payments
If a payment fails:
- The parent will be notified.
- A grace period may be provided.
- Access to classes may be suspended if payment is not received.
The Academy may remove a student from classes until payment issues are resolved.
Places within cohorts cannot be guaranteed during periods of suspension.
8. Refund Policy
Unless required by law:
- Subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing cycle has commenced.
- Missed classes are not refundable.
- Partial attendance does not entitle a parent to a refund.
- Technical issues on the parent’s side do not create entitlement to a refund.
Where the Academy cancels a lesson and no replacement lesson is provided, the Academy may, at its discretion:
- Provide a replacement lesson; or
- Provide an appropriate account credit.
9. Missed Classes
If a student misses a class:
- No refund will be provided.
- The Academy is not obliged to provide a replacement lesson.
- Access to recordings may be provided where available.
The Academy does not guarantee that all lessons will be recorded successfully.
10. Attendance and Punctuality
Students are expected to attend classes punctually.
Repeated absence or persistent lateness may result in:
- Educational review;
- Cohort reassignment;
- Removal from the programme where appropriate.
No refunds will be given for non-attendance.
11. Parent Responsibilities
Parents agree to:
- Ensure students attend classes prepared and on time.
- Provide a suitable learning environment.
- Supervise younger children where appropriate.
- Treat teachers and staff respectfully.
- Support reasonable behavioural expectations.
Parents must not disrupt classes or interfere with teaching activities.
12. Student Conduct
Students must:
- Behave respectfully towards teachers and classmates.
- Follow teacher instructions.
- Avoid disruptive behaviour.
- Refrain from inappropriate language or conduct.
The Academy reserves the right to suspend or remove students whose behaviour adversely affects other learners.
No refund shall be payable where removal results from misconduct.
13. Teacher Changes
The Academy does not guarantee any particular teacher.
Teachers may be changed due to:
- Availability
- Illness
- Leave
- Operational requirements
- Performance management
Such changes do not entitle a parent to a refund or cancellation without notice.
14. Lesson Recordings
Classes may be recorded for educational, safeguarding and quality assurance purposes.
By enrolling, parents consent to such recordings.
Parents agree:
- Not to distribute recordings publicly.
- Not to upload recordings to social media.
- Not to share recordings outside their immediate household.
All intellectual property rights in recordings remain the property of the Academy.
15. Safeguarding and Online Safety
Parents acknowledge that online learning involves shared virtual environments.
Students must:
- Use appropriate display names.
- Dress appropriately.
- Behave respectfully.
The Academy reserves the right to remove participants from a lesson where safeguarding concerns arise.
Any safeguarding concerns may be investigated and reported to relevant authorities where required.
16. Intellectual Property
All materials supplied by the Academy including:
- Lesson content
- Worksheets
- Curriculum documents
- Recordings
- Presentations
remain the intellectual property of the Academy.
Materials may not be copied, redistributed, sold or published without written permission.
17. Educational Outcomes
The Academy provides educational guidance and instruction.
However, the Academy does not guarantee:
- Specific academic outcomes;
- Fluency in Qur’an recitation;
- Urdu language proficiency;
- Examination success;
- Religious knowledge benchmarks.
Progress depends on many factors including attendance, effort, parental support and individual ability.
18. Technology and Internet Access
Parents are responsible for:
- Devices
- Internet access
- Software requirements
The Academy shall not be liable for interruptions caused by:
- Internet failures
- Device failures
- Power outages
- Third-party platform outages
outside the Academy’s reasonable control.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
The Academy’s total liability arising from the services shall not exceed the fees paid by the parent during the preceding three months.
The Academy shall not be liable for:
- Indirect losses;
- Consequential losses;
- Loss of opportunity;
- Loss of earnings;
- Emotional distress claims arising from educational decisions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under English law.
20. Suspension and Termination
The Academy may suspend or terminate enrolment where:
- Fees remain unpaid;
- A student repeatedly breaches conduct rules;
- A parent behaves abusively towards staff;
- Safeguarding concerns arise;
- False information has been provided during registration.
The Academy’s decision regarding suspension or termination shall be final.
21. Parent Cancellation
Parents may cancel their subscription by providing at least 14 days’ written notice before the next billing date.
Cancellation requests received after this period may result in one final payment being collected.
No refunds are provided for partially used billing periods.
22. Waiting Lists and Class Availability
The Academy does not guarantee immediate availability of a place.
Students may be placed on waiting lists.
The Academy reserves the right to allocate places according to operational and educational requirements.
23. Data Protection
The Academy processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.
Parents consent to the collection and processing of information necessary to provide educational services.
24. Complaints Procedure
Complaints should first be submitted in writing to:
complaints@wisdomtutors.co.uk
The Academy will investigate complaints and respond within a reasonable period.
Parents agree not to publish misleading or defamatory statements online while a complaint is being investigated.
25. Force Majeure
The Academy shall not be responsible for failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- Internet outages
- Government restrictions
- War
- Civil unrest
- Pandemics
- Third-party service failures
26. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
27. Amendments
The Academy may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
Updated versions will be published on the Academy website.
